The Shepherd’s Flock Ministry at New Birth Church is designed to care for the health and well being of our disciples. The Shepherd’s Flock team is comprised of Associate Pastors and their wives, Associate Ministers and their wives and Deacons and Deaconess.

The Description of Flock: 
The Shepherd’s Flock Ministry is overseen by the Pastor of Pastoral Care and Guest Relations. Each Shepherd’s Flock is led by the assigned Associate Pastor.  The Flock Leaders are considered “First Responders” to those disciples who need care and support during times of sickness, hospitalization, bereavement, or benevolence. They also address ministry concerns and answer questions that relate to common functions in the church. This function allows the Lead Pastor to focus more on teaching, preaching, leadership and discipleship.
For the Pastor to attend to all the disciples, at all times, whether its physical or mental difficulties, is overwhelming and not scriptural. (Exodus 18:14-23)

Although the specific term "Flock" is not found in scripture, it does refer to those who provide assistance to the under-shepherd, like Aaron, Joshua, Timothy, Epaphroditus, Mary, and Martha to name a few. (See John 10:3).
